Seema Hingorani

Seema R. Hingorani is a managing director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) and founder and chair of Girls Who Invest (GWI), a barrier-breaking nonprofit that is dedicated to transforming the investment management industry by attracting and advancing women investors, change-makers, and leaders.

As part of the MSIM senior leadership team, Ms. Hingorani is focused on strategic client relationships, investment talent development, and diversity initiatives across the platform. She joined Morgan Stanley in 2019 and has 30 years of investment experience.

During her tenure as chief investment officer of the New York City Retirement Systems, she oversaw $160 billion in assets on behalf of public employees and retirees.

Since its founding in 2015, GWI has changed the face of investing through education, mentoring, and internships, supported by hundreds of corporate partners and generous donors. Ms. Hingorani’s vision for GWI is to have 30% of the world’s investable capital managed by women by 2030.

In 2025, she received the Icon Award from Pension & Investments, and the inaugural Torch Bearer Mentorship Award from the PEWIN Foundation. In 2024, she was named to the Forbes list of “50 Over 50: Investment” for her industry leadership. In 2021, she was a recipient of the Knight of the Legion of Honor, France’s highest civil and military merit award. She was also recognized in 2021 by Barron’s as one of the 100 most influential women in U.S. finance and in 2019 as one of Bloomberg’s 50 “Ones to Watch.”
