At LiLY (Lifeforce in Later Years), we are dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults through a variety of programs that foster community connections, celebrate the wisdom of our elders, and support aging in place. Our initiatives include community care programs, awareness campaigns, and neighborhood volunteer projects, all designed to provide free-of-charge assistance and companionship to seniors. By engaging volunteers and celebrating elder contributions, we aim to create a nurturing environment where seniors can thrive and remain active, valued members of their communities.

The community of Morningside Heights and West Harlem are home to LiLY’s model care programs for its oldest residents living at home. All services and programs are free-of-charge. Community connections, friendship, and support for daily living are just some of the ways that LiLY helps thanks to a large corps of trained caring volunteers who live within walking distance of those they serve, and dedicated staff.
LiLY’s Awareness Campaigns aim to honor and highlight the invaluable contributions of our elders while fostering intergenerational connections. Through events like the Legacies Award Night and Celebrate Our Elders Week, we celebrate the rich histories, skills, and wisdom that older adults bring to our communities.
These campaigns not only recognize and appreciate the achievements of seniors but also encourage the younger generation to learn from and engage with their elders, ensuring that their legacies continue to shape and inspire our society.
What is Celebrate Our Elders Week?

LiLY Legacies Awards are presented at a Gala fundraiser each year. The festive night celebrates individuals who have made a profound impact on our culture and multiple generations. Past honorees include Rachael Ray, Dr. Herbert Pardes, Peggy Shepard, and Linda Fried.

In a variety of ways, LiLY works with people who want to form a neighborhood elder-care network that helps elders—free of charge—to remain comfortably in their own homes as they age.
We have mentored several groups, for example in Fairfield, Illinois and in Solano County, California. We have also published Guidebook to help those who want to build their own community elder- care network, based on LiLY’s Morningside Village program.
