Ron Bruno, LMSW

Ron Bruno is a licensed social worker and the longtime Executive Director of Morningside Retirement and Health Services (MRHS), one of New York City’s first Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORCs). Since 1997, he has led MRHS in pioneering community-based aging programs that promote independence, wellness, and connection for older adults in Morningside Gardens and beyond.

Before joining MRHS, Ron served as Director of Social Work at the Amsterdam Nursing Home and at Saints Joachim & Anne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brooklyn. He earned his MSW and a Certificate in Social Work Administration from Hunter College. A respected voice in the field, he has presented on NORC programs at national conferences for the American Society on Aging, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Pioneer Network.

Ron also serves as treasurer of WSIACA, educational coordinator for the Hartford Partnership Program for Aging Education at Columbia University, and co-chair of New York’s NORC Program Directors group.
