LiLY serves older adults living between 105th and 145th Streets on Manhattan’s West Side. Our staff and volunteers live right here too — neighbors helping neighbors. Staff are available 24/7 to lend a hand when urgent needs arise.
Annual Picnic at Riverbank Park
LiLY keeps your dance card full! Our much-loved events include the Annual Picnic, Celebrate Elders Week Luncheon, Thanksgiving / Friendsgiving, and New Year’s Day Tea. Birthdays and milestones are always on our calendar. LiLY’s team also supports participants in sharing their passions — from book signings to piano performances.
Weekly Jewelry Group
Twelve weekly groups bring neighbors together for conversation, creativity, and fun — from exercise and memoir writing to film discussions and a men’s group. Meetings take place in homes, community spaces, and online.
Volunteers — neighbors of all ages — offer companionship and a helping hand. Whether you’d like ongoing connection or occasional errands or escorts, LiLY pairs you with a friendly, trained volunteer who’s nearby and ready to help.
LiLY can help you make your home life safe and comfortable! House cleaning - Home organizing - Safety improvements (grab bars, lighting).
LiLY contracts with an experienced, kind cleaning team (Maid Right) to provide deep home cleaning. In 2026, we hope to expand this free service to include home organizing!
Longtime and newest volunteer deliver monthly groceries to LiLY participant.
LiLY’s partners and volunteers assist with groceries, errands, and small household tasks — making daily life run more smoothly. We’ve also developed relationships with healthcare providers who make house calls.
LiLY helps you stay connected through simple tech support — from setting up cell phones and tablets to helping with telemedicine visits and installing assistive devices.
In 2024, LiLY gave away and set up Amazon Alexas, Life Alerts, and Tablets to 40 older adults.
LiLY, working on behalf of our oldest neighbors since 2009, is standing by to help, 24/7.
Emergency room visits, apartment issues, a new medical diagnosis, loss of a loved one, or returning home after rehab — LiLY’s experienced, professional staff are here to help. We advocate for you, coordinate next steps, and make sure you’re not facing these moments alone.
LiLY’s experienced staff and advisors make sure you have access to the best care and information at home. We can recommend and schedule doctor appointments, help facilitate conversations with local or distant family members, and provide information about life planning — including advance directives and healthcare proxies. We also introduce participants to trained volunteers for friendly visits, escorts to appointments, and other supportive connections.
